Favorite Guns

Broke down today and bought a Trijicon ACOG for my M4. :D

I guess I should post the one rifle I keep here beside my carry weapon. This is my favorite rifle which marks my retirement, if for any other reason that I love its looks. Cant hit a barn door with .72 caliber round ball even though the barrel is riffled. But with .69 caliber maxiball the riflings come into play very accurately. The Idea was to keep your composure until the beast entered the 100 yard range, take earful aim and fire. If by chance you missed and you would almost have to completely miss if the beast was still coming without something missing like a shoulder or hind quarter, you had one more load to shoot in the 2nd barrel that the 1st shot may have dislodged and un-seated a dangerous explosive situation. So the procedure then was to quickly fall to the kneeling position for a more accurate 2nd shot while hitting the but of the rifle stock against the ground with 1 hard rap on the way down. Now with the 2nd load surly seated at the bottom of the barrel, you wait for the beast to close withing 15 to 10 yards point blank range, take a deep breath let half out, hold it, pointing at the animals center mass, and squeeze the trigger slowly until the shot completely surprises surprises you and hopefully no misfire lol. Almost forgot the weapon is a .72 Kodiak Express Double Rifle, produces 5000 pounds of energy.

My Glock is my favorite.

I don't know what it is but I just dont like Glocks. I know they are great quality but theres just something about them that I don't like same with any of the knock offs like the Springfield XD.

You sir, are very quickly becoming my hero lol. I'm tryin to save about 2k right now for the gunshow coming up, all I know is I want an AR style rifle maybe 556 maybe 6.8 maybe 7.62. I just hope nothing else pops up that costs me money.

That is a beautiful rifle and I'm sure it has one heck of a kick to it. I would love to take a couple of shots with that but I dont know if I'd ever buy one. I feel like I'd make my shoulder issues a little worse if I did.

Well black-powder muzzle loaders can be a refreshing change from modern weapons and while they do kick the report is much slower, more like a shove then a punch. Id actually rather shoot this then a 12 gauge riot shotgun, now that will paint your shoulder red and blue.

My dad actually just got a breach loading black powder rifle for deer hunting that he loves. I can't remember the name of it but I'll be looking into one so I can get out next year

If I can give you one great pointer it's that it's much cheaper if you just build an AR as opposed to buying a complete rifle. Seeing how almost all the different AR companies (minus Colt) have matching pins, you can mix and match different parts including the upper and lower receivers. I was a dummy and bought my first 2 ARs as complete rifles but my next one will be custom. Buy a good lower receiver and work your way up from there. And 2K will build you an AWESOME rifle.

I've heard Stag arms is pretty decent and most of the AR's I see at shops no matter what they are seem to have the Stag Arms stamp on their lower reciever. I know I want a LMT SOPMOD stock, a friend of mine had a Colt with one and I loved the feel, so building is probably gonna be the best for me. Plus I can buy as I go, one piece at a time haha. I never really thought about that until you mentioned it and I seem to want so many different parts I'd be wasting money buying a complete and then all the accessories to replace the stock ones with.
