you'll move on to DVDs soon enough..

and personally I prefer to keep everything on a file server.. it's easier than searching through numerous CDs or DVDs, not to mention everythging is accessible via a local network or the internet...

Exactly. I have a DvD burner, but I don't see any point in burning all of it.

Dude ... I have NO clue what the HELL you just said (no offense by the way) -lol- im very computer illiterate -lol- i just know how to download and burn it ... my cd's are very organized though so i dont really have too much trouble keepin up with it tho and if my computer does get too over crowded i just make an MP3 cd -lol- and delete the music -lol- my computer it basic too i only use it for school work and litsining to music -lol- and also the obvious (the forum LOVE this place)

heh.. you'll have to try harder than that to offend me ;)

OK.. to explain a little more.. a Blank DVD will hold around 6 times as much data as a blank CD (give or take) so in the same physical space you can have 6 times the music.

And for me, personally, I do have every MP3 I have stored on a DVD somewhere, but I prefer them to be more accessible, a 200Gb hard drive in my PC will hold the same amount of music as around 250 MP3 CDs. and having them in a compyter means that I do not need physical access to them, I could listen to the music on any computer (or whatever, an xbox works well) in my house or at my place of work.

Maybe I should point out that I'm pretty disorganized too.. ;) and you don't want to know how many CDs and DVDs are around here.

hehehe ok i think i understand a little more idk i guess mp3's are just a little easier but i have a question...can you burn mp3's on a blank DVD and if so do you have to have a cd burner or can you use a regular burner??? thanks for puttin up with my minimal knowledge of computers -lol-

Yes, you can burn mp3's on dvd, but you need a dvd burner.
