Featherduster's 24G Aquapod 150w HQI Reef

you do know stalking is illegal, right? :lol2:

moonlights look great! This is exactly the type of nano I want, but I want a 12 gallon so it can sit on my kitchen counter. You have to get some sexy shrimp!!!

love how the sand 'sparkles' under the moon light like stars and some sexy shrimp would look sweet against that black sand or a fireshrimp. Great trade! Good luck and keep us updated with pics!!

those moonlights look awesome! I bet the b&w clowns are going to look amazing in the tank. Those are one of my favorite kinds of clowns.

Your pictures are really making me want a nano, they are so sleek...

Thanks! I love the moonlights. This is the very first time I have had them. And I have always wanted BW clowns, but they are pretty pricey.

lol I am glad you like the nano. Now I am not the only one who has the urge to do an impulse buy (or trade) for one.

Don't worry, I am only stalking fish XD

I heard the 12G looks great too, they are just smaller versions. They usually come with a MH 70w unit. I would have traded some of my livestock for that one if he didn't have the 24G.

Ooo sexy shrimp sound nice. I just have to figure out what tank to put my pistol shrimp in since I don't think they are compatible with sexy shrimp. I will have to move him out of the 10G soon. My parents are bugging me to get rid of one tank. I took my 5G down, but I still have my QT, 10G, 35G and this one up.

lol I thought so too! I even pulled my family members away from TV time to take a look at it.

Updates so far:

It seems I experienced a small mini cycle from .25 ammonia two days ago to 0 right now. I have a feeling I had some die off from my sand and the bacteria from the established media and live rock took care of it. My frag zoanthids didn't seemed bothered by it. I will probably add some live stock in tonight, but I will do a water change just in case. I will monitor the tank every day for the next week.

Here is a small side view pic to hold you off until I can do the water change later today:

very nice.
i really love that black sand...what kind is it? I am going to be setting up a new tank starting this weekend 75gal and will be using my sand plus some from my 30....therefore i am open to about 30 more pounds of sand lol.....that would look sweet on my bar where i have my 30 right now.

Glad to hear you are dragging people away from the TV. I do that all the time and we watch TV in full view of all three tanks that I have, but I still insist they get up and look closeup lol

Its a very common black sand. Probably the only one you will see in stores titled "Moon Sand" (http://www.aquariumguys.com/moonsand.html). The larger white pieces of sand in it are actually small pieces that fell off the live rock. So I think you will have a nice mixture if you add the two sands together. I can't wait to see some pictures of your new setup. Especially since its right by the bar. Its always great to place fish tanks in areas where people hang out :) Its a nice conversational piece. I kinda wish I was able to place the tanks in my living room because its weird inviting strangers to your bedroom to look at the tank xD

P.S. I definitely recommend koralias for reef tanks. They are very silent compared to my other two types of powerheads. The build-in filter in the aquapod is also silent. The only thing that makes noise is the sunpod fixture (just the fans, which is true for practically any high powered fixture), but that is extremely quite compared to my coralife fixture. Coralife fixtures can be loud.

Finally! I managed to successfully move all live stock. Well... there wasn't much to move. Since my 10G no longer had coral, it was just my goby/pistol shrimp and the new clowns from QT. Oh and the live rock. There is a total of 30lbs now.

Here is a video of the new clowns since they wouldn't stop moving:

And here are some pictures of the tank:

This is a full tank shot.

You can see my macro forest to the left. I decided to place it in there as a precaution. All parameters are stable and I will be doing double daily parameter checks for the next week. One in the morning and one in the late afternoon.

sweet. the video is cool too. they look very happy in their new home. i can't wait to see you fill it up with corals! and you have to put an anemone in there for the clowns...i think that symbiotic relationship is pretty awesome.

Yup, the clowns are pretty tiny. Cute as a button though. I haven't been able to come up with names, any suggestions?

Oh, I got bored so I created this xD:
