I got my hands on a Featherfin Catfish today and he is a stunner.... Not overly shy and has picked his spot already...

I have other types of synodontis but he is a first for me.... Any one got any tips on this guys and do I have anything to worry about...

He is living with 2 Spotted Pictus, 2 ID Sharks.... 2 Rams & 2 Frogs, all of whom are very friendly.....

He seems quite friendly.....

When you say ate like a pig you don't mean the other inhabitants do you...?

Just checkin, always paranoid when I get new fishberts..... Specially this big boy he's a decent size will try for pics as soon as I can....

I had one for 15+ years, hated to see it finally die. It shared a tank with various cichlids and other Syno's, even another eupterus eventually, no problems.

What size did it end up because the websites are conflicting.... Some say 5 inches some say 8 inches upwards..... Just out of curiosity...

The conflict is mainly depending on whether the fish is measured with ot w/out the tail fin. "Standard length" doesn't include the tail fin, just the end of the meaty part of the tail. I do believe 8" would be an overestimate by any standard in most cases. There are the occaisonal exceptions, but in general they don't frow that large.

Oh right.... the one I have gotten is already a good 4.5 - 5 inches...... so he should only get a little larger.. I started to get worried as some of the websites said silly sizes... My tank is big enough for 8 inches I would say so that does make me worry less.... Thought I was gonna have to go out and get a larger one.....

I will soon, he won't come out to play just now... Soon as I have some I shall post them.... I have my camera poised and ready...

Not the Best Pic But You Get the Picture

Here is my new FeatherFin.... ain't he a cracker.....
