Ok, so I've had my 75 gallon for 6 years. I LOVE it and recieve many compliments on it. It sits in our living room and is the focal point of the room.
Just this morning I about had a panic attack. The filter (A penguin bio-wheel) stopped working. I noticed it right away. I unplugged it and pluged it back in -- nothing. I did that twice, just to make sure. I have never had a problem with the filter whatsoever, until now. Why did it just stop working??
I ran out and got a brand new filter. Another penguin, because I loved it so much and it kept my water crystal clear.
My worry is that all the 'good bacteria' in my old filter is now lost, of course. So I'm essentially starting all over. If I put my fish back in the tank now, will they all die?? I have mollies, tetra's, swordtails, and algae eaters.
Any advice? I'd hate to lose all my fish, just because the filter isnt matured yet!!!
