So I just got my new 80g tank and I'm setting it up. It came with a built in filter, just a Jebo water pump that only moves about 125g per hour pumped into a try of filters and those round ceramic bio rings and then back out. My tank also has a built in over flow in the corner.
What I'm thinking is to not even use this built in filter, it doesn't move enough water and I don't think it'll cut it. BUT it covers the back of my tank perfectly (and fits with the light hood) and I don't want to buy anything or DIY a cover cause I think it will look bad. SO what I was thinking is to get a Fluval 404 and hang the intake and out-take pipes over the built in over flow in the corner of my tank and run the hoses in and out of the holes that are built into the old filter that I wont be using. I know this is kinda hard to picture and maybe I'll try to post pics later when I'm not at work, but do you think this will work?? Can I put the whole hang on the back of the tank part under water and hang it on my overflow??
Thanks for any help!! :duh:
