Filtration question?

That's a really cool site. I can't comment on your setup as I'm still learning more and more about filtration every day but thank you for showing that to me

goldfish are one of the messiest fish that why you need a lot of filteration. id get a canister. like a sunsun on aquabid.

You also have to remember that the filters will not run what the manufacturer says. None of them do. Over filtering with messy fish is never a bad idea. I believe u said your fish were smaller at this point? Go with the one for now and plan to add the second when they get bigger.

I like hobs for ease of cleaning...but have to agree with allaboutfish here...you really would be better off with a canister. Though I would go eheim. Had sunsun and odyssey and couldn't stand either one...lol

Canisters clean your tank really well, and they aren't hard to clean once you get used to them. Get a big one, too. Well worth the money, especially with messy fish.

See I just dont have the space for a canister and I need to minimize hoses and cords...my dog and cat like to chew through them. :screwy: maybe someday if I upgrade tanks I could make a canister work, but not with this one.

Thanks for the tip on buying one now and a second later. I think I will do that. Put it at the top of my mile long fish wish list haha.

What kind of "sponge filter" do you have that is doing 200 gph? Power head driven?
