Fish Death

This is an odd question, but I am very curious. When a fish in my tank dies, should I throw it out or flush it down the toilet? Thank you.
 
I toss mine in the garden, during the winter. I imagine in the early spring what has'nt decompossed ends up rototilled to "fertilize" the veggies I eat in the summer. During the summer I put them in a compost pile.

Btw, Is your avatar a picture you took? If so nice pic....what kind of camera you got?
 
Deciding factor to me would be the size of the fish. Of course.. a lot of ppl feel differently on this matter. To me, however you choose to dispose of it works..

As long as they fit in the toilet, I usually flush mine. If it is too large, then it goes in a large ziplock bag and into the trash.

omg no, we bury all of our dead fish (my husband cant believe I do it for every single one).

Me and my daughter bury dig a hole, line it in flowers, put fishy in, cover him in flowers, top it with soil then put lavender on the top.

I could never ever imagine flushing it.
 
I love all my fish very dearly and am shooken by their loss, but I still flush mine. keep in mind the ground outside where I live is covered in 2-3 feet of snow and is frozen solid right now, though I wouldn't be opposed to burying them in the summer.
 
We flush ours. When our first goldfish died, my 4 year old son was very upset. I told him that I buried him, so he wanted us to go back outside and dig him up (yikes!). My wife got smart when the second died, and said we were sending him back to the sea.

You remember, from Finding Nemo, all drains lead to the sea.

It's a tough choice no matter what you chose.
 
large fish go in the veggie area, small ones go in the flowerpots. best fertalizer othther then Gravel vac
