OK. This is not my first tank, but my first nano tank. It's 2.5 gallon, pure white substrate, 13 watt 9000k and 15+ Marimo Balls that sink, float and dance. It looks really nice and ready for fish. I want to put a labyrinth fish in but the light substrate and water movement don't work out. What are some good fish I could use? A school of tetra? A goldfish? Some weird fish?

Marimo balls that sink float and dance.... what is a Marimo ball they sound cool... Off to google it.. :)

Merimo balls are getting very popular around the world. Get them while you can. They either come from Lake Tanaka in Japan or a lake in (I think) Ohio.
There the coolest plants I have

Sorry, Lake Akan

I do want a Betta, but they cannot have any water movement. They live stagnant water and are also a labyrinth fish.

that is untrue. bettas do not like their water stagnant. where are you getting all of thyis false info? labaryth fish and most fish could honestly care less what color the gravel is in a tank. ALL fish need a filter in the tank to allow for waste removal.

Bettas can thrive very well in moving waters, infact they cant stand to be in stagnant water. For them to properly breed, however they need to be in an aquarium with no surface agitation, so they can create a buble nest on the surface. Bettas do so much better in a filtered tank than in a stagnant bowl. Two platys or a Betta is all i would ever imagine putting in a 2.5 gallon.

I just read it in my book The Simple Guide to Freshwater Aquariums, by David E. Boruchowitz

Ok, so any other recommendations?
