fish that people seem to love but you dont care for

I agree with the you on Danios and about most of the common Corys. I think most people by Corys as a utlity fish (good bottom clear). They are active enough but other then price why not get one like a Panda Cory, at least they are something nicer to look at. I never thought I would get Gouramis until I saw a Dwarf Blue and the Dwarf Flame. I got them to add colour to the tank an have found them to have a lot of character (like angels). The DF die of an inherent disease that comes from being mass produced. Black Tetras don't do anything for me. Plecos ... spend the extra $ and get a nice one. I've got a Gold Nugget, about 4 months ago and other then peaking out of his "cave" and bolting as soon as he sees me, I've seen him for about 2 second out of it. That is the honest to god truth! I have tried even to see him at night with a flashlight ... no luck. I think he hears me coming. Maybe a plain one would have been more exciting! Gold fish (comets) are the cows of the fish world and are great to cycle aquariums. The intentionaly bred deformed ones do nothing for me. To each his own I guess.

Not sure why but Ive never been a fan of guppies, swordtails or mollies... Also, I had a Dwarf Flame Gourami once that was the meanest fish I'd ever seen. Dude just had serious attitude problems... I don't like mean fish.:headshake2: I have a fish tank because it relaxes me to watch it and maintain it... When they start getting all Chris Brown on the other fish it stops being relaxing.

Mollies - seem to only come in black or white (or combo of both), breed like mad

platies, guppies, and other livebearers - got them as my first fish, was cool the first couple of times they had babies but of course they never stop and can overrun an aquarium, got old really fast

black ghost knifefish - from what I have heard you have to have a glass tube thing to even see your fish because they hide most of the time (what is the point then)

CAEs - mean and don't eat algae, I think everyone in the beginning of their fishie hobby gets con'd into getting one of these

probably some others that I can't think of right now

frontosia, tiger dats, most mbuna... I'm sure i could think of more, but on the other hand I could probably get into any one of those things in the future too. Any fish can be interesting if you look into it enough.

oh, i should add that most cichlids (angels aside) just look like retarded rednecks to me. they just look like they float around all day saying "duuuuur" and drooling on themselves.

I just about spit out my drink reading that! TOOO FUNNY!!!

mollies platies swordtails goldfish..... DANIOS, and alot of pleco's dont do the trick for me

^_^ some of them just look like the only thing they're missing is a trucker cap and a can of natty ice.

most cichlids (except my Bolivian Rams)
plain goldfish (too plain)
fancy goldfish (too fancy)
mollies, platies
parrotfish freak the hell out of me...

I'm at the office and this made me come close to LOLing. I work for a radio company and people were on-air at the time. Coulda been ugly.

MOST schooling species... I don't much like mollies or danios (I keep tetras, they are sleeker... the Mazda 3 of the fish world, imo), the big guys with big mouths all irritate me, and, of course, goldfish.
