Fishfriends 40 gallon tank build thread

doubt*

Anyway, FF, I cracked up the other day in class. We were doing SSR in English and the Powerpoint came up and it had your old avatar, the bookworm one. I started cracking up.

I'm everywhere :headbang2:that reminds me, i need to get that back as my avi, i keep forgetting.

I'm glad you got the gold fish situation worked out FF.
Perhaps you can get your parents to tell your sister the reason behind their absence.

Well, I'm giving my sister 2 options: let me get rid of it or find a friend that will take it by the end of the day. Maybe not even the second one.

options are always a good choice, or at least letting someone think they have a choice.

well, not unless i can get my mom to agree to it without thet goldfish.

Ok, so my sister managed to find a middle way, of course. Im only getting rid of 3 of the fish, the rest are staying in a super filtered 10gal tank until she can afford to get them a different tank. Im sorta hoping this will go the way of Hip-hop the rabbit. She gave him to me, took him back, and gave him to me again. She wont get a second chance with the fish, thats for sure. The 10gal has a wisperx45 in it, and will have 3 small goldfish, which is really pushing it, but i already moved my mollies into the 20gal, no hope of removing them, to hard to catch. The 10gal is barebottom to remove any leftover food and make it easier to clean. The stock will be 1 3-4 inch calico, 1 3-4 inch common goldfish, and 1 3 inch Black Moor. Here is what the advisor says about it:

Warning: Black Moor Goldfish is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 10 inches.
Warning: Comet Goldfish is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 10 inches.
Warning: Goldfish is not recommended for your tank - it may eventually outgrow your tank space, potentially reaching up to 12 inches.
Recommended temperature range: 66.2 - 73.4 F.[Display in Celsius]
Recommended pH range: 6.5 - 7.5.
Recommended hardness range: 5 - 15 dH.

You have plenty of aquarium filtration capacity.

Your aquarium filtration capacity for above selected species is 158%.
Recommended water change schedule: 52% per week. (You might want to split this water change schedule to two separate 30% per week)
Your aquarium stocking level is 144%.
Your tank is overstocked. Unless you are an experienced aquarist who can meet the maintenance/biological needs of this aquarium, lower stocking levels are recommended.
