Fishycat's Photo Thread!

Ok, I am totally embarrassed to say I did not see this thread until now. Fishy my dear, you have an eye for planting tanks. They are stunning, as are your fish. I am so sorry about V, but sephy and nazgul and big red are absolutely gorgeous!!! Great thread, great pics and keep em coming, I am SO subscribing!!!

I might have missed it but what ever happened to your cube? We don't get updates of that tank? Ya leave us hanging to wonder :-(

Or maybe I just missed something about it.. I admit, I was looking through the pics more than I was reading..

Er, my "medium-tech" 5g went kablooey after I got lax with the diy co2. Algaetown. I salvaged the dwarf sag (those plants have been through so much!) which is in my 6g with the same rocks. The 5g is now my Diana Walstad Natural Planted Tank with potting soil & small gravel (home to Ms. Jupiter & some Endlers). I should throw up some pics of that, too.

No need to be embarrassed! Thanks for the compliments... Sephy's 2.5 is a mess right now, so I have to demur and say most of the credit goes to the black background & substrate. :) Thanks for subscribing!

Haha, I just found this thread aswell, well i havent actually been on this forum for aages.. But you've definately made me want to go out and grab some bettas. Sorry to hear about V, he was awesome, but Sephy has an awesome crowntail. I wish that my LFS had more variety than what you get! But I cant do alot about that so Im gonna have to deal with it. Anyway, I love how you plant your tanks and i may steal a few ideas (sorry!) but theyre great. After treating the ick in my tanks i need to redecorate my tanks so its going to be very heavily planted!
I hope all goes well with your tanks!!

Thanks so much, guys & gals!

Big news... Two (yes, 2 in 6 days!) egg clutches in the 20H. Letting them be, not sure if they're fertile. Thank goodness they're small, about the size of a quarter. Very hard angle to photograph, but I'll throw up pics if I can get 'em!

Yes, two clutches of brigg eggs! I've only had the briggs for exactly 7.5 days, so I'm totally caught by surprise. If I find any more clutches in Grande's tank, I'll probably remove & freeze... two is enough! But if I find some in the 10g (not sure the water is low enough, nor the snails big enough), I may need to incubate because I really want more blue briggs! :D

You can see the clutch on the right is very recently hatched (white color & very moist!)

Okay, I can't help it - I'm gonna do another update. SNAIL LOAD WARNING! My digicam battery was charged and I remembered this while I was feeding the "bottom feeders" with sinking wafers, and later snello, and I found my calcium pills...

This was the Briggs' first time experiencing sinking wafers... they actually seem to react faster to these than the snello. The cories & MTS are already nomming the snello by the time the briggs find it.

Grande sucking up her piece...

It was so neat to see her rasping tongue moving (through her head).

Little Miss Latte - look how daintily she eats by curling her antennae out of the way.

Scrunchy-faced Dax! So funny!
091010 digicam 009.jpg

Literally 5 seconds after I added the calcium pill to the tank... weird!

My fish are trained to eat snello... thus, they proceeded to try and eat the calcium. :nono:

Even the neons got into the act! Sillies.
091010 digicam 050.jpg

The early MTS gets the calcium!
091010 digicam 052.jpg

It took the briggs a while to discover the calcium,

The smaller ones nibbled some, but didn't really eat a lot.
091010 digicam 059.jpg

Grande nommed her calcium - probably needed it after laying all those eggs!

Snello time!

Cories love snello!

And more funny-face pics...
