Fishycat's Photo Thread!

omg! hugs to you fishycat! Sephy was so gorgeous! i'm so sorry to hear you lost him :(

i'm sure it's been asked already, but i'm too lazy tonight to scan through all the posts in this thread...... what camera are you using? those sure are some nice shots! (and some of your captions......)

Thanks HP, how are your babies doing? Any updates?

Sorry bout seph, sad stuff sucks. Your brigs are awesome, and what type of ramshorn is that, the one with the zebra-is patter? Nice moss! is it christmas? are you trying to make a wall?
LOL! The ramshorn has shell damage which looks like white stripes, I suppose... it's a red or brown ramshorn. The moss with the blue snail is flame moss... I tied some to the wood and it's grown into a lush wall. I love it, but the wood is unwieldy for aquascaping.

Thanks BFM, yeah I'm still bummed. He was one of the most attentive/needy & interactive bettas I've seen/had.

I'm using a P&S Sony Cyber-Shot 8.1 mp. I have the lens nearly against the glass, macro setting with iso works well, and I take many, MANY shots. "Turn around, dammit! No, not that way! Stop moving!" :swear: :hearts:

They're doing just fine. I moved them to half of my 20 long split between them and my new Tiger Endlers. Much harder to find and spot feed now, so we'll see how it goes. The good news is that their parents are getting along really well again.

Hey fishy, don't want to hijack your thread, but remember back during one of your earlier photos posts we were talking about MTS having spikes on their shell opening and how it might be specific to the type or whatever? Well tonight I caught one of my mts near the glass and it def has spikes so I thought I would show you. I know I am a nerd for thinking this is so interesting, but I can't help myself. lol

Ashes, no worries - I'm a huge geek because I take hundreds of pictures a week of my fish/snails. Great shot! Yep that's the pearl grey w/gold sparkley MTS. I thought only that type had spikes - but I think that my red ribbon MTS also have spikes. These guys' spikes are definitely more visible, tho! thanks for sharing!

On a side note - I am so upset because tonight I just lost over 400 pictures from my digicam. I thought I'd downloaded them all to my pc, then I cleared the camera. Now I can't find the pics, just an empty folder! :wall: :pc:

Oh NOO! That has to be SUPER frustrating. I am sorry. I have lost pics before too. =/

Yeah totally sucks. I'm kind of in shock, I think. That was about 10 days of pictures... Hm, which means I averaged about 40 pictures a day. See? I'm such a fish nerd.

Everything looks great :) sorry about your losses and your pics... Take some more :D hehe.

Sephiroth is an awesome name! (RIP Sephy) Have you seen Advent Children?I don't know if V is named after V in "V for Vendetta" buy if he his, awesome...one of my fav fliks.

V was named Valentine because he was a Valentine's Day gift from my husband. I started calling him "V" after the Vendetta guy after he started terrorizing all of my shrimp & snails. Later V came to stand for Vishous which is taken from a book series I enjoy as well as the correctly spelled word. :p:

Okay, so it's been a couple weeks... here's extra pics to make up for it. :D There are a LOT of snail pics... and my seemingly lone neocaridina heteropoda is getting 10 new friends today. Now that there's a sponge on my intake, let's hope that they all make it and I see them out & about more.

Yes, I have hair algae on the outside of my tanks. Cat hair algae.

Snailpile during feeding time (altho I'm not sure if they're going for the duckweed or the fish food).

Poor ramshorn!

I really like the pearly gray MTS with the gold speckles. (see, Red Ribbon MTS also have the spikes!)

OMG, fish pics! Two of my celestial pearl danios. I refuse to disclose how many shots it took to get this clear-ish pic. :raspberry:

Neon neons! Underrated fish, I tell ya.
110310 dump 090.jpg

Fancy shot of the 20H after I pulled a couple of the aponogetons and got to finally scrape the right side of the tank glass. I have a lot of dwarf sag.

Scrunchy-faced Mocha!

There are a handful of baby brigs that are actually pretty big - almost pea size! They're really coloring up and are getting easier to spot.
