im getting some butterfly fish and was advised to buy some floating plants. Are there specific plant species i should look at? and advice would help (for a 20g tank, 2butterflyfish)
Deocder brings up a good point, I hadn't even thought of egeria, either densa or najas. I'd choose najas over densa simply becuase the leaves are finer and its such a soft plant.
I would probably avoid duckweed as it quickly covers the surface of the tank and you have to keep scooping it out. My poor betta can rarely find the surface. Water Sprite would be my choice as it is cheap and you can grow it floating and planted for a cool contrast.
I don't know...I use duckweed a lot. All you have to do is scoop it out or confine it to an area. Granted, there are probably better choices (phyllanthus fluitans would be one if you could ever find it!), but duckweed sure seems to be readily available and grows well...probably even in hell
