Flourite Black or Eco-complete

Was going to do this as a poll, but honestly haven't a clue how to do it.
Anyways, just curious, since from what I know they are very similar, what is your preference between Flourite black vs Eco-Complete? ( the flourite color is irrelavent really, just going with that one to eliminate the "I use flourite for the colour" posts.) And what you feel pros or cons between the two are....

Rinsing is a pro for EC.
The flourite is nicer grained, they sell the black flourite sand also.
Flourite weighs more, meaning it's easier to replant with.
Color is a little better also with flourite.

Cost: it's a lot cheaper than EC, you also pay for the water with Ec and shipping cost.

I've done 1600 gallon tanks with EC and 400 with Black flourite, I prefer the black flourite much more.

seriously though, thank you very much. Wasn't sure between the two and your opinion is greatly valued. However, when you flourite is finer grained..whenever I've seen it it always looked like there were larger pieces and the eco looked finer, but I could be mistaken

I found the eco easier to work with, and less dusty than the flourite, but now that the flourite has settled in, it does seem to hold it's position and shape without a lot of erosion.

i've only used eco complete and it has worked out fine. but recently i came upon black flourite sand, and i think that is what i am going to go with from now on.

They have two sizes of flourite black you can buy.

the other is very nice, the sand.

Flourite is messy, not sure if all Flourites are such as the Black. But I am guessing my Flourite was the regular one, and that clouded up a bit. Even if you stir up the plants you get dust clouds.

My Eco-Complete I love, but watch out for bags with big pebbles :/. I don't know if bad shipment, or what..

Either one, they are both great substrates in my opinion.

my bag of eco was never black. it's brown. if that matters

I love Eco-Complete, but I use it as a bottom layer with a layer of gravel on top.
