God this stuff is so dirty its in a bucket in my tub with water runnig in it and it looks similar to diareahh

Read my Guide for a great method of rinsing Flourite.

Your plan is doomed. If the gravel is larger than the Flourite (and pea gravel is) then the Flourite will end up on the bottom and the pea gravel on top.

And 15 lbs (one bag) of Flourite and 10 lbs of gravel is not enough. You will need at least 25 lbs of gravel (that's the voice of experience in this whole post).

Hmmm......

Heres a link to the gravel i mixed with my fluorite, http://www.strictlypetsupplies.com/productdetails.php?sku=034652115119 . Bad pic of the color.

I have posted a pic of the fluorite and gravel mixed in my tank. As you can see, altho the majority of the fluorite is on the bottom (of which is where it will do the most good), it is still mixed throughout with the gravel. That is why I reccommend a gravel that goes well with the fluorite so you won't have a layered look, unless that is what you are going for.

As far as rinsing the fluorite, i used a bucket outside and the garden hose to rinse mine until the water flowed almost clear. Only rinsed partial bags at the time.. My 75 g has a ~5 in sloped to a ~3 in back to front fluorite only substrate.

(that's the voice of experience in this whole post).

Yes, I do have experience. I am running 4 heavely planted tanks, two having flourite as a substrate, one of the two having fluorite gravel mix. Had the user asked how much was needed, or had indicated to start with how much was intended to be used, Im quiet sure that said poster would have been informed by others as well that more substrate would be needed for a planted tank. Don't really appreciate the statement quoted above stating that you are the only one posting in the thread thus far with experience. My apologies do go out to you if I misread your statement.
