flowerhorns'

Usually a 75 is needed for a FH, but it sounds like this one has had a bad life and may be stunted. A 55 MIGHT work for this fish, but be prepared to upgrade if it starts to grow.

I feed my flowerhorns pellets, shrimp, smelt, krill, and earthworms. Guppies are a good treat, but not necessary.
you got another?

what are you talkin about....most oscar gets 14" or or 16"...they grow little faster than rd and messy eaters....55 is way too small...i remember i had 5" oscar and i had it for another year...he grew up to 13" and upgraded to 75 and grew up to 15"!!!

yea i hate to tell you this....their not pure rd or midas....their mixed (midas/rd)...lfs only carries mixed breeds its sad =(....eventually most rds become white as they grow
Yea You rarely see a pure red devil in a fish store. I would love to have one though. They are truly red devils when they are red.

the same LFS has a breding pair of pure red devils...but they can never keep the fry alive.

I have also heard that you can keep an oscar in a 55 gal...& they get bigger than RD's.

imo its not ok for an oscar to be in a 55g since they can easily pass 13" and a 55g is only 13 deep, but almost everyone including the people at oscarfish.com say a 55g is ok for one o.
