Fluval G now available who's buying one ?

EEEK! Sticker shock! I would much rather spend that money on a rena or an eheim. Especially due to how expensive the filters are.....

Actually Im surprised becasue we all know the FX5 was the same price if not more when it first came out and the G6 will probubly drop in price as well. Also it looks like Fluval has finally decided to do it right and stick with Circumference style large surface area filtering, albeit propitiatory cartridges which is where they know they can make their money as most Aquarist have gotten smart and no longer buy their media for their basket type filters. However with those plastic cart frames I can already see myself wrapping sponge or poly fill around a gutted used up G-filter and using it over and over again LOL. But they know most will never try that and will pay the big bucks. I wouldent be surprised if the filter drops in price but the carts stay pricey.

Im interested and want one, but until when the price gets below 2 bills or someone need the money, Im not that interested and have bigger fish to fry (pun).

Rod, you like carts, I bet this filter has you biting at the bits. If you find one dirt cheap as you always do, for your safety send it to me for a few months testing.

I always feel like I'm the only one who's not even remotely interested in this.

hey hey hey, quit with all the hatin!!!! it is not that bad of a price for the filters, it comes with FREE cartriges!!!!! :p:

I also find it hilarious that a canister filter has trailers.

looks like my Xmas gift to myself...though the remote readout should be removable/remote for more functionality...

thats.. ALOT of money for a filter.

Exactly what I was thinking.

And I absolutely LOVE new filter technology!!!

BUT Cartridges?? are you kidding me?

So this is supposed to be whats appealing about this filter? you can "possibly" change the media while it's running?

Big frikin deal, you will still have to get in there and clean it out sooner or later, and any canister that I can't mix and match my own media choices is a big no way for me.

Oh and it tells you when you need to do a water change?

If you are dumb enough not to know when to do a water change then this is the filter for you at a astronomical price!

No thanks Fluval...
