Freshwater Crab advice?

So i've done some research, and what i've found indicates that fiddler crabs are scavengers primarily eating vegetable matter, while red claws are opportunistic predators who eat anything slow enough for them to catch.

Thanks for that info syddakyd. I'm going to see if I can find some of those crabs for my african tank.

That is the most rediculous thing I've heard. Even if a crab manages to cut a a fishes tail off it would still be able to elevate itself to where the crab can't consume it alive. They are scavengers, they may harrass some fish and possibly eat some fry if they get a chance (unlikely); even so, there are no "true" freshwater fully aquatic crabs.

hello! i once had red claw crabs that killed my beta... i found it seriously injured under my plants with a crab still holding onto it. i had about 4 crabs at the time and the belly of the fish wasnt really intact. but it was still alive. i guess my beta got comfortable at the bottom of the tank during the night... i was so sad....
