Oh and thanks about the comments people.
And yes, an excellent point Nepherael. The assassin snails are definitely doing their part now that I come to think of it.
I had completely forgotten about those when considering getting rid of some of the apple snails.
I'll end up giving away far less than I had come to expect was necessary.
Thing is the snails also keep the uneaten food factor non-existent and add more fertilizers for my plants!
Believe me the plants occupy most of my tank nowadays. Even with my obsessive giving away of valisneria cuttings
Yeah I actually just bought my first 2 snails. One is for a Molly growout tank and the other is for an egg hatching tank (after the eggs are hatched as I've been told they will eat them) and they haven't done much yet so I'm hoping ill see them help with the cleaning. It's rough when I can't vacuum with a normal gravel vac for fear of vacuuming up babies lol. I use air tubing but in the egg tank I can't get the gunk off the bottom because even air tubing grabs all the eggs and even the tiny fresh hatched babies haha

Oh I was about to upload some pics. The snails don't have any way of eating the eggs as they lay them out of the water. Mine never bothered to eat the eggs anyway. I recommend buying three snails and keeping them together in a large, well-established tank and let 'em have a good time (that's how I ended up with so many snails-all came from two mothers). They fair especially well on shrimp pellets.
Right on, yeah I mean fish eggs. I'm actually scared I'm gonna have a huge infestation of snails. Well I could always get a puffer (i hear they eat snails) if it works with the other fish in my tank if I end up with 2 many snails

Don't get a puffer.
They'll beat the life out of the fish as well as COMPLETELY destroy the snail population.
And what kind of fish eggs are you talking about?
As of right now, glofish. Eventually I'll have blue angels breeding (if any of my current 4 pair off). But yeah, my glofish pretty much spawn any time I want them to and I love raising fry so I started letting them spawn in an egg tank and trying to raise them. It has been a learning experience as I'm pretty new to the hobby but I have around 20 free swimming fry that seem to be doing rather well and some more eggs that were laid this morning (maybe 30-50 more eggs)
