Fun kind of game, but not for the lounge!

When I was 10 I had a 10 gallon with a goldfish, glass catfish, a couple of black mollies, a kuhli loach, and a peacock eel and an african clawed frog. With no cover. Eventually everyone except the glass cat (someone got him) did a carpet dive. Not fun at all. But my mom wouldn't buy a cover for it! She said they wouldn't jump. HA! The worst was the peacock eel. I stepped on him on the floor, and it gave me the creeps and was the start of a fish phobia that lasted until early this year! (about 25 years!)

i bought a 10 gal and set it up and the very next day went out and bought 2 oscars and a common pleco, the pleco died becuse i didn't feed them becuse i thought they would eat the algea that wasn't there and 1 oscar killed the other. i still have the one oscar lord knows how he survived that.

actually my first mistake was my first tank...which was a bowl big enough to eat a few cornflakes out of...with 4 goldfish in it *cringe*....and no filter....and maintenance involved changine all of the water every week and scrubbing the tank with a toothbrush and some soap while the fish rested in the sink filled with water...probably happier in there too...I was what about 9 or 10 or so.

My first tank was a ten gallon, the same day i bought it I went to petco and asked them to help me choose fish to live in my ten gallon the rest of their lives. I walked out with 2 shubunkin goldfish, 6 neon tetras, 2 mickey mouse platies, 2 dojo loaches, 4 black neon tetras, and 2 zebra danios. I did water changes every other day which I believe was the only thing that saved them from swift death >_> Only one neon died a few days after I got it. I moved them all a few months after purchasing them. Five years later I still have the original 2 shubunkins too.

Thats pretty cool Thehappypet. Good story!

mine would be the same as everyone else. i wanted my first tank, a 10G. so off to the local petco i went and talked to the guy there. walked out with the starter kit, and 4 mollies, and 4 platys. all of which died within a few days.

started out a 10 gal with 2 angels, to cycle...and they lived for 3 weeks, till i got a snowflake eel + rainbow shark + algae eater...well the smaller angel, shark and algae eater all got devoured by the eel...so i had an eel and an angel, added a opaline gourami...the eel died because it got a disease from a feeder gold 2 months after i got it even tho it survived 6 hours outside its tank behind the dresser..dam feeder...so i still have that one original angel with a new angel and the gourami still here with 2 tiger barbs...i feel bad for all the deaths, but atleast that angel is still alive! AND i thought they were supposed to be killed easily...oh ya, it took me 3 weeks to realize water changes exists, and i had worked at a petstore featuring fish a month before i got the tank
