Hey, what's up everyone!!
Ok, so im it again. Been thinking about it for a while actually. I currently have a planted tank, which i posted pics of a few days ago. the lighting on it is a CF Coralife, 4 x 65 with 6700K bulbs.
Im have always been a little skeptical of the yellowish tint these 6700K bulbs give off. Anyways, i was thinking of going with 2 6700K bulbs, and 2 10, 000K bulbs to achieve the "brighter or whiter" look. However, ive read alot of different opinions, and a lot of people say it gives the tank a "washed up" look, and fish colours seem to get dull.
So anyways, today i was doing some research, and i found that many people were using the GE 9325 bulbs either alone or in conjunction with 6700K bulbs. Now these bulbs are no where near 10, 000K apparently, as they intesify reds.
Here are some pics of comparison of before and after.......

The difference, atleast from the images is pretty darn amazing imo. Now i have heard some say that the 9325K bulbs, since they promote more red or intensify it, can give the tank a "pinkish" appearance.
Now assuming that's true, would mixing 2 6700K and 2 GE 9325K bulbs make things just right?? Would it allow to intensify colours on both fish and plants, yet still achieve the "bright or white" look, rather then that yellowish tint.
Also, would other colours like on blue fish (neons, dwarf blue Gorami) or yellow fish (Golden gouramis) look odd with the GE 9325K bulbs??
Obviously i need opinions of people with these bulbs, but other opinions are more then welcome!
By the way, does anyone know a place around or in Toronto where you can get these bulbs???
