Geophagus Tapajos Orangehead breeding facility

Thanks for the video. If your water is so hard try and purchase a water softener. But the mere fact that they spawned show you are doing something right. Also look at there color

They are beautiful fish. I would love to have Geo's someday - need a bigger tank first!
Congrats and good luck on the spawns....

Thanks Smitty! Thinking of getting an RO system, but just gonna wait a while. I'm trying to sell my house so I will hold out until I find a new place.

I've got tanks!!! Come get em' before I setup more! SERIOUSLY!!!:)

Any update on your fry? have you been successful in raising them?

VERY nice Geos. I had been looking at Geos for a long time but never had any, but I just got my first Geos-3 different species. I got one pair (99% sure it's a male/female pair) and two groups of 4. 6 of them will be staying in my 150 and I'll be setting up a cooler water setup for my Gymnogeos once they mature so I can hopefully breed them.

Any update?

I am contemplating setting up my 135 as an orangehead tank. I think it would be cheaper than a Nature Aquarium setup.
Do you have any suggestions on lighting and filtration?
