Getting a fire eel...

Thanks you guys i'll look it up for a smaller eel then or maybe a rope fish, i liked thaty idea:) As for evelyn80 linkinpark are absolutely fantastic:)
How about a peacock or rope fish guys?

Peacocks are finicky and they also like to escape. Rope fish are nice but they also like to escape. I guess what ever you decide to get you wll need to do a lot of research on. The critters well being is the most imporant thing here.

Use egg-crate fitted to the inside lip of the top rim of your tank and weight it down and you'll pretty much be guaranteed of no escapes. That is of course that your eel or ropefish is to big to fit through the holes. LOL Egg-crate allows your tank to breathe unlike glass tops.

Actually my tank has 2 covers on top and in the middle is the kighting. The water is approx. 3'' down from the cover and i'm quite afraid of that distance

I would suggest the peacock eel, mine is gorgeous! he is olive and yellow and his eye spots are ringed in bright orange! just make sure you have some dirt to grow live worms in ( not hard at all) because they wont take anything that's dead.

Your really with a good few choices to select from, you need to decide in which you will be happy with for you will be the one who have to care for them, so name your choice..
Mastacembelus vanderwaali
Macrognathus siamensis
Macrognathus circumcinctus
