Glo-Fish = Danios

my bad, Have you ever thought about them using Long Fin Danios to make Long Fin Glo Light Danios?

i have actually seen long fin glo fish, wish i had taken a pic when i had the chance

lesser28 are you a bioligist because if you arent I sure reccomend you to become one! Thats a really cool picture of the scorpion, is that natural or is it injected?

I'm actually a biochemist :) Mostly I teach pre-med students (and a few pre PhD students) chemistry.

That is one cool looking scorpion! (Although growing up in AZ I learned to really hate those things).

Some fluorescent spider pics - they're jump[ing spiders -- one of the few spiders that really creep me out!

Wow, i'm pretty sure that they inject the egg with a gene right? Or is it that they glow naturally, either way they look pretty cool!

Those are all critters that naturally glow - nature's cool huh?

We should make 2 lists that consist of Natural Fluorescent and Artificial Fluorescent, I'll start the list:
Natural:
Spider
Scorpion
Parakeet

Artificial:
Fruit Tetras
Dyed Glass Fish

Well thank you for shedding some light on the jumping spider :grinyes:. I will have to see the next time hubby finds a jumping. And yes the male parakeet does glow I had to check it for myself. Think about it, it does make sense with birds since they see a wider spectrum of light then we do, color is everything to them.

Thanks for the comments on the scorpion. Hubby is holding it and is shinning a black light flashlight on it to make it fluoresce. Otherwise if you look at it normally it would just be black. I have to say I live near Chicago so the only scorpions we have to worry about are the one in their cages at home.
