Glock's 120 Build

i would not get rays for such a small tank. i also have a 125 long. i bought a 600 gallon for rays but sold it since i dont have the time to work on it. even 600 gallons (4'x8'x30") is bordering too small for them once they reach adult sizes.

Which brought up another point I was sleeping on last night. A stingray would be great in this tank while its small but when it gets larger im not even sure if I can afford a bigger tank for it. Plus, with me being new to sting rays my in experience may kill it and I would feel horrible if that happened.

So for now, my plan is to put some nice driftwood stumps in here with plants, a school of angels and maybe a GBR or 2 with a few others. Regardless of what I do, this tank will look awesome.

Just to keep everything togethor:

Think im going to go with 2 x 125 Watt lighting around christmas. Im going to get the stand and tank set up this weekend and get sand for it and wash that. Hopefully i'll be able to get it partially up and running and order my filters and heaters from Big Als.

So far heres my plan..:

Weekend 8/29:
-Move old crap out of the room, move the stand in and get the tank set with cleaned sand and test lighting.
-Order filters and heater, steal power head from 10 gal planted that I dont use due to fishies!
-Clean out the rest of the room and move down stairs (Sleep on floor with mattress Eff yea!)
-Order Manzanite Driftwood from Manzaniteguy

Weekend of 9/5:
-Hope filters arrive with heaters
-Fill tank and start cycling fishless

Weekend of 9/12:
-Stare at tank cycling

Weekend of 9/15:
-Maybe order lighting, order dry ferts to store
-Convince parents 125 watt lights don't consume that much :P

Weekend of 9/26:
-Throw a guppy or 2 in there and monitor health, watch them freak and massive tank space

Weekend of 10/3:
-If I havent ordered lighting, figure out how
-Add pleco to tank if param's look good
-Add a few low light plants

Weekend of 10/10:
-Order CO2 system
-Order plant bulbs (I've had suprisingly good luck with these, 1 pack of 12 bulbs for $6 and 5 plants are already sprouting in the first week.)

sounds like a good plan. why not make it an awesome planted tank with some angels and some small schools.

There will be but I currently dont have the funds to start with getting the expensive lighting and CO2 systems so im holding off on an all out plant tank. There will be Angels in there, I'm planning on a school of 5 of them along with a pair of GBR's. There will also be my bristle nose pleco and a few oto's as well as cory cats. So far thats all I want in there.

I'm holding off on the whole plant tank due to the fact I need a new car :P Fake plants will just have to do for now.
