Going to get new fish need help!

emerald catfish are not cories, and are not algae eaters. they can reach four inches. with that bioload, i would not add much more to the tank.

With the Mollies gone (she said she took them back), there will be some room. Probably for dwarf Cories or a few Tetras, but much more will definitely OS it.

If your taking your mollies back, I'd take everything back, get 6 dwarf, pygmy, or panda cories and 6 harlequins / tetras and see how nice it is.

Watauga, I think it is an emerald green cory she's talking about...?

If its not, I agree w/ Dwarf Puffers; take it back w/ the mollies and replace it w/ somthing more suitable for a 10 gallon tank.

An emerald green cory isn't compatible with a 10g, though. They need groups of atleast 4 and get 2.5 to 3" long, so a 20 long minimum is needed. I'd suggest getting 6 dwarves or pygmies and 6 harlys or tetras.

Oh, and by the way, cories do not eat algae.

if it was labeled as an emerald green cory or catfish it is more likely a brochis splendens, which gets larger than cories do. green or bronze cories are corydoras aeneus. either way, the OP should have the fish in a group, not all alone, and the 10g is only borderline big enough.

The OP confirmed it was a Cory at the LFS after discussion (in a prior thread that I can't find. I agree that it is too large to have a proper grouping in a 10G and like DP's stocking suggestion.

well the molly aren't going back because one of them is about to give birth at anytime, this is the reason why she attacked my other fish. Here is a pic of the the catfish

So I am getting another tank to put what babys i have left in it!!

Yep, definitely a Cory. Good luck with the fry!

MTS claims another victim! lol

that is a bronchis. they are closley related to corydoras, ans are very similar. they get to big for a 10 gallon though.

corydoras do eat algea. mine eat the algea off of the gravel and some of the decor i ahve in the tank, and they cant get ehough of the algea tablets i put in the tank along with the other sinking foods. they wont eat algea like a pleco, but saying they flat out dont isnt necessarily true.

how big do they get again? But right now he small!!! So i need a bigger tank then?
