Goldfish and?

actually i'm very familiar with goldfish biology. the stunting situation is not contrary to biological processes, in happens all the time.

and i never said growth hormone was secreted into the water.

however, other hormones are secreted into the water, and those contribute to the stunting... the excess of these hormones eventually causes the growth hormone production to halt. this is a biological mechanism to address overpopulation in the wild.

and i dont know how an LFS could take in a fish "off the street" last i checked goldfish were not land animals. That being said, you must have a hateful LFS. yes, most WILL take in a fish, and no it doesn't have to contaminate their whole stock. it's possible to not put the "off the street" fish in with the others. most LFS have more than one tank. every LFS i've ever been to is willing to take a fish in (provided they have enough room) especially if the other option is that the fish will be improperly cared for.

DD,

Would you care to elaborate on the "appropriate actions will be taken" part because that sort of sounded like a threat on this end.
Puppy, the discussion of this is closed in this thread. If you need any explanations, I urge you again to PM me, another mod or the Admin.

You are either ignorantly or purposefully misrepresenting my statements again.

I never claimed "stunting" doesnt happen, what I have said is that the goldfishs organs do not continue to grow after the rest of the goldfish growth stops.

Please name "the mystery hormones" that are secreted into the water by goldfish which supposedly controls the goldfishs pituitary glands production and release of growth hormone.

There is a hormone which does inhibit goldfishs production and release of its growth hormone, its called samotostatin, but samotostatin is not secreted into the water.

List the names, address's and phone numbers of all of these kind and caring LFS please, I would like to contact them and ask them if they would take Chsscotts 3 feeder goldfish off his/her hands.

This is getting so out of hand and way to personal over these goldfish. I'm pretty sure after reading all the posts that everybody agrees the 10 is to small, whether they get stunted or not, its still to small in comparison to the size they actually CAN grow......
every body seriously needs to get over their selves and get back to trying to HELP her find a new home for her fish, not argue back and fourth on who's right and wrong... seriously.

Which parts are the "way to personal" parts?

The parts in which my 30+ years of experience has been belittled?

The parts in which my statements have been continually misinterpreted in order to make it sound as if I said things I have not?

The parts in which I have been accused of providing false or inaccurate information?

Just wondering ...
