Good 5-10g starter kit

It claims to have bacteria, although I'm not sure I would trust it to have the correct types...granted in a fishLESS cycle there isn't much to lose. You should try it out and keep us updated with the progress to see if it makes a difference or not.

Okie dokes. I plan on eventually buying the API complete liquid test kit, but for now I'm going to have to go to petsmart for analysis. I'll take it in 1 week after I start and see how it's going. I'm unboxing the kit now and interestingly enough it comes with a penguin 150 filter, even though the box and all descriptions say it's supposed to have a penguin 100. Rated for a 30 gallon tank, I've read you can never have too much filtration but do you think that would be a problem for the little tetras? Don't want them getting sucked up or constantly having to fight current :x

Turns out it's a moot point. The penguin 150 didn't fit with the hood included with the kit so I had to go back to petsmart and exchange it for a penguin 100. The extra filtration would have been nice but oh well, this one still does 100 gph and is rated for up to 20 gallons. Going to try to finish building it tonight.
