Good ground cover ?

after a few more days of nice light and diy co2, my glosso is starting to show a lot of roots shooting off and I've seen completely new sprouts show up, up to 3 inches away from the original plantings. I think the diy co2 is working fine for me, I don't even have a big set up, it's a 1.5 liter bottle... I remove it at night... light seems like the key.

GirlieGirl: I'm kicking myself in the butt now for not taking the height of my tank into consideration when I first got the lights. I'll probably just sell my current fixture and maybe do the DIY route from AHsupply. The ahsupply kit doesn't include bulbs, correct?

I also have micro swords that has been in the tank for 2 months now that has not done anything.

Correct, the AH kit does not include bulbs.

Microsword is a high light plant that would benefit from CO2, but I'd start by having atleast 3.5wpg or so. More is better, especially if your tank is tall.

Many people say that the height of a tank doesn't mean you need more wattage for it to be higher light, but I would have to disagree based on my experience. I've only had the experience with CF fixtures though....haven't experimented with height of tank and wattage with any other type of lighting.
