and that's why it's going to take a large public movement/outcry.
and that's what's going to make it hard to keep the public involved. in the time of instant gratification and adhd, it's hard to keep peoples attention on the issues until the right time even if it means they're giving up everything they believe in when they don't put forth the effort.
don't give up. those letters have to go out and action must be taken every time this comes back around.
Knowing that sopa means soup in Spanish, when I saw the thread title (Good News For Now on the SOPA/PIPA Front) I thought that poor Pippa had gotten soup on her front. I wondered how that could be good news.

exactly, but how many of those congress men use the internet a lot? How many people google something and find a forum about it that helps them even if they arent a member of said forum? I know when I have a problem and I google it, I normally get a lot of links to threads on various forums about it.
They've now shelved SOPA indefinitely, but it sounds like a trap to get people to accept PIPA. Now Wikimedia is going to join the blackout on the 18th to raise awareness.
Lol, they announced the blackout a few days ago. I wrote my rep again and signed a couple of online petitions.
