I have a 10 gallon that is separated with two bettas and I would like to get some plants in there. I have some kind of plants in there, not sure what they are but I got them from petco. I also have breeding snails in there for my puffer and some ghost shrimp I would like to start breeding as well if my bettas don't decide to eat them all. Which is why I guess I need something that the shrimp can hide in.

I have two of those fluorescent curly-q lights that are 60 watt replacements but are only really 13 watts. They are really bright but do they still count as low light or what?

I read that bettas like plants that float and I do need some plants that will take up space in the top of the tank because as of right now they still see each other in the divider.

I would like plants that are really low maintenance, easy to take care of and will grow like weeds, :D

Thanks

try hornwort or watersprite, both can float nicely for your betta and will grow like crazy. If you want something in the lower portions of the tank, anubias and java fern will do well if attached to driftwood/decoration. I have the same lighting on one of my 10g and have moss walls, anubias, lace fern, java fern, hornwort and sags in it. All of which are doing quite well.

With 2.6 watts per gallon, you've got a wide range of plants to choose from. Since you want the low-maintenance kind (I'm with you), I'd suggest anubias and Java Fern. Wisteria is also a good choice: I had some in a 10g, and the betta just loved hanging around in the leaves. And it grew like a weed. For floating plants, look here. Anything up to "medium" light should be fine for you.

Java moss would be great for the shrimp fry, btw.

As far as ordering in the winter:
I just ordered from Mgamer and it was shipped very quickly, no complaints whatsoever. USPS screwed up though, and the package was delivered 2 days late. now I am worried if my plants will actually grow. I live in CT so we are dealing with 30 degree weather here.
