Congratulations on finishing your service, and every best wish for the future.
'Never mind maneuvres, always go at 'em' Nelson's standard advice to his captains, on sea and presumably land...although he may have been talking about petticoats there...
'I have not yet begun to fight' John Paul Jones, Capt., USS, Bonhomme Richard, 23 September 1779, as his flagship was sinking (before accepting the surrender of a British 44 gun frigate 3 hours later).
'I can imagine no more rewarding a career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'' JFK, 1 August 1963, Bancroft Hall, US Naval Acadamy.
