I think I have a few too many options for aquascaping this time around. I've got a huge pile of rocks out back with a bunch of different types and enough of each to fill the tank.

Ok, the 55g I'm getting has "natural pebble" style gravel, which if I recall right looks a bit like this: http://www.pets-warehouse.com/pic-a/AES10701.jpg

And here's some of the rock options I have to work with...

quite a few of those rocks look like they have iron or other ore in them; be careful! If you are wanting to match the gravel, I would go with the more rounder, smoother edged stones. It will look more natural IMO.

I'm so jealous! I need to find a cheaper source of scaping rocks than my LFS. Last time I spent $60 on rocks alone. :headshake2:

Go to a lawn and garden store or better yet a landscape supply store to find stones to decorate your aquarium with. I've purchased several fist sized pieces of slate and round smooth stones for just a couple of dollars for the whole lot. Much cheaper than what pet stores charge.

Nice rocks! and good shopping advice too! I am not a fan of the smooth rocks, but i do agree that with that gravel, it may look more natural.

Iron is not bad for your tank.
