Goth Tank - Ideas?

:help:
I've scoured the internet in search of nifty 'gothic' set ups, architecture and plants for my recently acquired 55 gallon.
...I have failed...

So, I'm pestering everyone here. =)

I'm looking for a somewhat natural look to the tank but with a nice dark (read: Scooby Doo style, Haunted Castle, graveyard look) overtone. I've thought of castles and the like but remain unimpressed with the ones I've found online. I'd love to know if anyone else has done something similar.
Also, I'm looking for plants that look... well, creepy. I'll do the foot-work on what lighting I'd need for the plants, substrate etc. on my own. =)

Ideas and/or pics?

Skull ornaments? They always creep me out...especially if there's a loach hiding in an eye socket!

You could do some dark gravel. Use some branchy wood like manzanita. They sell gargoyle ornaments not sure if that would kill the natural look tho.

Black sand like tahitian mood sand would be cool, maybe mix it with red glass beads(almost coarse sand like) like the ones used for a betta bowl. I don't know where to get nice tombstone like ornaments, you may have to look on e-bay or find a local potter to create something for you (unglazed). As far as plant.. nothing comes to mind as creepy bolbitus maybe... red accent lights you'd use for those aquarium volcanos behind some chinese basalt or seriyu stone. and Blind cave fish for creepy looking fish.. I dunno, just thinkin out loud

Watch bettlejuice and recreate the the graveyard scenes LOL

Hmmm, I'm liking these ideas! =) I read up on the blind cave fish and they seem fairly easy to keep and look cute! Er, in that creepy sort of way. Thank you ALL and keep the ideas coming!
:evil_lol:

how about some black lipstick for the fish? sorry, my poor attempt at humor.

Maybe have all black fish in the tank?

I would either rely on cave-like structures, lighting, and stringy plants for naturalistic horror(and of course, fish with the proper aesthetic) or do a sunken city/graveyard type thing. Except, instead of the entire graveyard, have the background show hte rest of it and make it be a small portion, like one or two stones, the area 55 gallons would take up in real life.

Just make sure it doesn't creep you out when you come home.

If you want cartoon ghosts you can break the pumpkin off of this and use it:

Lots of skulls and spooky looking buildings here:

I saw some dragons and tentacle-looking root cave decor on Petsmart's webpage.

Some unique castles:

and the rest of their unique decor:

They include Egyptian stuff (King Tut's sarcophagus?), Gargoyle's, skulls, a good selection of shipwrecks, etc...

Can't vouch for anything I posted above, just stuff I found googling...hope it helps.
