Goth Tank - Ideas?

Yeah, I rather like it, too. ;)
With that as a background, some dark gravel, a few pieces of gnarled driftwood and a skull, you have a great looking 'goth' tank.

You know, a RTBS would look awesome in this tank.

LOL! I actually have that same pic on my computer. I priced Kinkos to print out a Photoshop design I'd been working on in the right dimensions and laminate it. Not too much more than buying a generic from a mega-mart, so that's what I'll go for with the background. Awesome!!

Very cool background pic. Can't wait to see this up and running.

I liked the glass cats & ghost shrimp, black kuhli loaches could add a snaky creepiness & or albino or other pale corys although they're maybe too cute.

How about the wispy fins of a long finned albino bristlenose or 2?

The LED spot lights are very moody/cool.

I was looking at the bristlenoses, ghost shrimp and glass cats. I really want to make sure everyone gets along before choosing so I'm going to pour over some compatibility charts and see which grouping would be the largest that could swim together plus not overcrowd the tank, have specific temp requirements, etc. I do my homework. =^-^=

I'm not sure if these have been suggested yet, but I've always though the African Butterfly Fish and Vampire Shrimp have a very dark feel to them.

Nice, I'm going to check those out too Vampie. =) I should also mention the outside of the aquarium will also be slightly redesigned. I took a look at some victorian aquariums and I dig the iron 'supports' around the glass, so I've cut some L-beams to size and will be distressing them a little before I apply them to the corners of the tank. Also the bottom is plain black plastic so that will be covered with an ornate wood molding I've already cut and distressed; adding to the dark drama going on inside the tank. I'm taking my time with it, I don't like mistakes, but it should be up before the Yule-tide season hits.

And yes, there will be plenty of pics, plus some DIY's on what and how I did it. =^-^=

Just my 2 cents again. The roman column ruins with java moss draped around the top reminds me of new orleans/ interview with a vampire! If you could make it less "roman" looking and more like gothic architecture.........Just a thought.....

I've bookmarked some sites with Roman Columns (sorry, I didn't mean to not include your idea first time around) and I think with a small hammer and some sealant I could make them look exactly right for part of the 'graveyard' entrance. A little Christmas moss growing up them would seal the deal. Thank you Noodles! =)
