dont use uv sterilizers. there quick fixes and destroy got and bad bacteria.... which messes with you biological filteration
Actually the beneficial bacteria responsible for biological filtration lives on the surfaces of the aquarium/filter. Not in the water column. Think about it this way, if the bacteria lived in the water column, then each water change would cause a mini cycle due to bacteria being removed. This is not the case.
My point is a uv sterilizer will not interfere with your biological filtration because the beneficial bacteria don't live in the water column.
