Guppy Community Tank

You need to get the algae bloom under control as it is bad for the health of your fish.

Less food, lights off, more water changes, black out for 3 days if all else fails.

Lovely guppies!

Im curious, how is green water bad for the fish? Its suggested that you raise some of the rainbows in greenwater as their are difficult to feed otherwise. Many ponds and lakes have annual algae blooms as well. I could see some of the causes of algae blooms to be harmful, but i dont think that an extended photo period is included in that category. Just curious on how it is harmful i guess

good start,nice tank

Thanks guys, the green water is all gone now, dissapeared almost overnight over the Valentine's Day weekend. I added some floaters on Friday, and by Sunday, it was crystal clear. Faster than a blackout.

You can read up more on it here:

Once I have more time, I'll take new pictures of the clear tank, along with my other tanks too.
