How old are your lights? I had the same prob. Finally changes my lights, and didn't keep them on longer than 10 hours daily. Worked like a charm.

Also, what kind of water do you introduce into the tank?

Richer: Ya, DIY CO2 so I'll add another bottle like you said, and I'll get a nitrate test kit this weekend.

Cheech: my tanks been going for a month and a half and so has the light. As for water I add it is declorinated tap water, no adjustments to Ph or anything.

Latazyo: In addition to improving the water for the plants I may get either a SAE, or possibly a molly. I'm leaning towards a SAE.
