50/50 65w on timer, changed it to 11hrs from 15 about a week ago.
co2 14,(i'm finding it difficult in maintaning it higher)
Temp. steady at 79

Bio load maybe in the high end..
5 blue rams
3 Bolivian rams
6 tiger barbs
1 dwarf guuramie (sp?)
1 african cichlid (about to move to another tank)
2 oto
3 SAE which just got this afternoon
2 apple snails
1 ram horn snail

feed once a day in the A.M
just got me a bottle of Leaf Zone 0-0-3 (K2O 3.00% iron .10%) my first dose was on friday.
also got me a bottle fo NoSalt just incase, not sure on how much to add so i only put 1 tsp.

Common reasons for thread/ hair algae are lack of CO2 + excess lighting, or an overdose of iron. I'd cut back on fertilizing until your plants show you that they need it. Keep up on the water changes too, that'll help dilute the concentration of any ferts hanging in the water column.

As side notes: 50/50 lighting isn't exactly the best for planted tanks. That is, it's not the most effective way to get your plants the light they need - actinic or blue lights won't do anything for plants. Look for something in the 6500K range - that'll serve you much better.

And yeah, you're tank is kind of overstocked, but it may be alright for now. SAEs may take care of your problem for you, but they grow to be around 6 inches and are quite active, and I'm not sure a 29 gallon provides enough space for them to live long term. Just IMHO. :)
 
to be quite honest, not sure if i have a 50/50...its difinitly have 10,000k i assume it was 50/50 becouse it has one blue light and one white light

Holy crap!
Most people on here would recommend just one pair of rams in your tank... :O
 
this might be a new post, but i'll just put it here.

My SAE are not doing there job! got three the other day, and i have yet to see them eat the hair algae, or any algae at that!

i got them a few days ago, when i first posted this thread. got three of them.

my two other oto's are not moving, they are alive but just stay at the filter sucking for days.

not sure whats goijn on in my tank, but starting to lean on to much iron, what kind of plants will soak up iron?
besides 50% w/c. what else can i do?
