hardy snail eating fish?

No, unless there are fry that like to swim near the bottom.

I think yoyos and zebras are the same species(botia), but have a different color pattern, but the design is always zebra.

Puffers would also work pretty well, but IDK if they would get along with swordtails.

Puffers would work great, except they don't really get along with any fish well. You will always be running the risk of them tearing your swords to shreds.

thanks. Are yoyo Loaches prone to Ich?
how about freshwater puffers? as I have some big clown loaches in my main tank and worried new fish in my sump might carry ich.

I second yo-yo's - they will clear your snails in no time. I had some and I don't believe they are any more prone to ich than any other fish? They are, however, blatant bullies. Think twice if you have small varieties of corydoras, or slow moving fish.

I got rid of my yo-yo's once they had done the job on the snails - they picked on my Betta mercilessly until I had to re-home him, then bullied 4 of my corydoras to death. Eventually I moved them out and donated them to the LFS, and peace has been restored. :)

No promises, by I used to have albino corys, they demolished my pest snail population. AFAIK, puffers are brackish, but I *think* that Indian Dwarf Puffers are freshwater. Very aggressive though, 1 in long and evil as can be according to my source.

I have a mature black spot barb (Puntius filamentosus) that loves ramshorns. I have been trying to establish a population in my tank for a while, but he wipes them out as soon as he finds them. He doesn't bother the nerites, though.

Throw a handful of ghost shrimp. They will eat all the newly hatched snails.
