hatching eggs

can take any bwere from 10 days to 3 weeks. mine usualy start hatching @ 10 days.

question for when I have more and can breed some .... do I have to have a heating pad? can I just float them like above stated.. in a zip lock bag above the tank in the water?
say over the breeders net ( where i would like them to go so I can feed them) or is a heating pad a must?

Heres how I did it slightly differently (including pics) and its the only way that worked for me so far after trying a few other methods without success
Materials used-Tupperware container (cheap one), a big sponge
1) Poke some small holes in the top of the container lid.
2) I cut two small pieces off the sponge about 1 1/2" thick and the length of the sponge about 4".
3) I dipped the sponge for the bottom in tank water and then squeezed out so it remained only damp not dripping wet.
4) I placed that sponge on bottom of container than I placed other dry sponge piece on top.
5) Put the clutchs on the top sponge, and cover container.
6) Place container on top of tank light where its warmest, this causes condensation and keeps the container at a good temp.
7) Be sure and check and when ready help clutch hatch or when you see baby snails move them to tank.

wow...i was just planning on leaving my eggs where momma left'em...is doing these steps necessary or does it just depend? :/

just depends mate! you will know whats better with your set up. you have to take into account humidity, wetness or dampness, heat etc.

I prefer to incubate for a couple of reasons. 1. I can monitor the clutch and the humidity better. 2. I can decide to raise the babies in a tank other than the one where the clutch was laid. 3. its easier to make sure the babies are eating in a smaller environment, so I hatch into a breeder trap.
