Hey guys,

I have a heater question.

I'm on my second heater on my 55g. This one is starting to do exactly what the first one did.

I have the dial set to about 72 degrees. My tank was at 84 this morning and the heater was still on. I can thump it with my finger and it turns off, but then it turns back on again. It hasn't been dropped or damaged, but the only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with the salt (never had this problem with my freshwater tanks).

Any thoughts? I have bought 2 heaters @ $30-40 for 200watters (LFS) and i don't know what the deal is.

Thanks!

damon

What kind of heaters are they.? mine varies about 1/2 of a degree...under stable room temps...:)

It's the 200w version of this one:

The last one was a different brand.

I'm kind of at a loss, really. It sucks to see the temp fluctuate so much, and be about 6 degrees above where i want it and still have the power on.

Iam not sure what kind of heaters those are, you may want to invest in a heater with provine reliability,,IMO you only need one heater...:)

Well, that's an AGA heater, which is usually a trustworthy brand.

What brand do you use?

This is really annoying. I unplugged the heater this morning. I don't like that feeling. :(

That's what my last one was. Visitherm.

Man...if it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all!

Thats unusual for thoese to fail..Lets see if any one else has any recomendations....:)
