take some of the Convicts and put them in another tank go to the local fish store and buy an Oscar and put in the 55 with the small remaining Convicts soon you will just have an Oscar in the 55. Then whenever you become overrun by Convicts again just add them to the Oscar tank and the Oscar will take care of your over population. Might sound harsh but Oscars are great fish. And you will still have your pretty Convicts.

A 55g is to small for an oscar they need a 75g min.
 
yeah i wasnt thinking an oscar i was thinking more like some angel fish and maybe some more types of fish that can be in the same tank . but its kinda hard to make my g/f alright with me getting ride of the cons lol
 
Angels and convicts won't work together, you won't be able to put any more fish in your tank until you have removed 99% of your cons.
