Just wondering if anyone has heard of these before?!? Both of my kissing gourami's have these horrid looking brown circular spots inside of them that are raised out of the skin! It looks horrid and one of them is loosing weight. I phoned up the pet shop where I got them and they said the whole batch has now got them but couldn't tell me what it is! I'm just worried incase it may affect my other fish as I have a few different sorts in there as its a 125litre tank. I hope it's nothing bad but am very worried it might be! Woul be so greatful if anybody could help me!

It sounds like external parasites to me... If it is, I would dose with furan-2. Def. Quarrentine them immediatly. If you could get a picture, it would really help us out. Also, we need some specs like tank mates, ammo, nitrite, nitrate and pH readings. It's not good to medicate unless you know for sure what it is.

Yikes I have no idea what that means! My water checks with the dippy stick thing all reads normal! I phoned up the pet shop I got them from and they said the whole batch has it and they aren't sure what it is even?!? I don't know how 2 post pics on here as I've only just signed up and on my mobile but have taken pics on my phone if I could email some to any one? I have got two other tanks but I'm breeding cheery shrimps in one and have baby guppies in the other so don't really want to be putting them in with either of those! Thanks for the reply though!!

I would take them back to the shop asap and let them deal with it. If not possible at this time, find a rubbermaid tote or even a clean bucket to house them until you can. Quarantining new fish is important for this reason, but hopefully it hasn't spread to your healthy fish. Keep us posted if you find out what it is.

I agree with Jan, if you don't have a place to QT them, take them back ASAP to prevent the spread of infection. You should get a liquid test kit. The strip tests are inaccurate.
For uploading videos or pictures, I use Photobucket. There is a mobile app for it, its quite handy when you don't have a convienant way to upload pictures, and only have your phone.

Thank you very much and 1 has died over night so will take the other back today! Really hope my other fish are ok! Thanks!

You can get them at any pet shop. They are a but expensive, but worth it in the end. Sorry to hear you lost one.

Don't put Kissing Gouramis in little tanks! They get almost a foot long and do not play well with others when mature.

When I asked at the shop they said they would be fine in my 125litre tank :/ I take it they take a while to grow to that size though? As I've had these for about 3 months and they haven't even changed in size!
