Help! Hurricane Rita Prep

Good luck Sally!

FEMA expects fatalities in my city. I moved back home to Tx from Va in the belief that I wouldn't have to experience hurricanes anymore. Now we are swamped with people leaving Houston and the stores are decimated of supplies.

Time to keep our heads down and hope for the best.

hey watcher, where are you at? I saw on the news a few minutes ago that the storm has shifted west again. I'm not really sure where it's going to hit land. Good luck to you and stay safe.

Take care Watcher.

Yes, the traffic is terrible. My Aunt and her DIL took 20 hours to get from Galveston to Dallas. My Uncle and cousin were still boarding things up for people so they finally left at 9am Thursday. We haven't heard back from them yet, but if they can just make it to College Station(1 hour north of Houston) they'll have a place to stay.

Did you hear about the bus that caught fire south of Dallas? Horrors, it was full of elderly on oxygen, so it exploded. Only about half the people on the bus escaped, the driver going back in many times to rescue people. The bus was from a place in Houston.

It took my husband 14 hours to get from Galveston to Brenham (160) mi.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I am safe in Pa, but ww still have huge gass prices to deal with. I just heard on the news that it might get as high as $5 a gallon. I still remember when we only paid one!

Whew! We are OK, but all those people on the TX / LA border really got the bad side of the storm. Yuk! how awful!

Larissa, I hope your husband is OK. That traffic thing wwas HORRIBLE!! 45 and 59 are woefully inadequate.

Watcher, How are you??? I hope all is well???!!
