yes cc in fresh is good. im thinking tap water fluctation over a period of time. you should test ur tap at 24 hrs or more, it gives time for chems to evap and things to settle. then youll get a true reading of tap to tank quality.

his crushed coral is in a 75g sump which is the filter for the 300g tank.

ph has dropped to 5 again.
will try to buy more crushed corals tomorrow. ans instead of inside the sump. i'll place them in my canister.
will 10 kilos of coral help my kh and ph?

I want to add CO2 as well, but don't dare with my readings being so low. All 3 of my tanks read the same: pH / 6.0 and KH / 4. My tap water is pH / 7 and KH / 5. All 3 tanks are different, only similarities are HOB filters and slate pieces.
I'm wondering, how much crushed coral are you supposed to use to get results (mg/gal?) And is it "crushed" coral, "powdered" coral or coral "pieces"?

tried leaving the water overnight in container and the ph is still at 7.5 and kh still at 3 ?

bicorbanate soda
or
bakeing soda.
what ingredience would i be looking for to raise ph?
have a look at this article, albeit SW it is applicable to your situation...it seems your problem is very low alkalinity and there is some suggestions about the environment of the tank generally

tried bicarbonate of soda last night, works a treat. mixing 3/4 tea spoon with a cup of water raised the ph by .2-3ph in my 50 gal
