Hate to tell you - but do another water change. The nitrite needs to be less than .25. Are you close to Petsmart, can you get some Prime? If you could get the Prime neutralize the nitrite and ammonia you cold wait until tomorrow for another water change, if not you need to another change ASAP to lower the nitrite.
Your fish won't stand that level of nitrite without injury. Even a little less than .25 affects the fish, but is tolerable, but 1.0 is really dangerous. I wish you had some Prime.
You really have to do a water change since you don't have any Prime to detoxify the nitrites.
Nitrites bind with hemoglobin in the gills and prevent the uptake of oxygen, so the fish suffocate slowly. It's really torture for them.
I hope you can help them tonight. We all mean the best, and want only the best for you and your little fishie friends.
Now these numbers are starting to look good. After this 50% change you are at a good starting point. You can even do another 50% change in the morning.
Doesn't seem like too many people are looking at this thread but just giving an update if anyone is interested. My Nitrites are at 0.25..... I am a firefighter so I was working the last 36 hours and when I came home I lost my only 2 albino corys.... I do have other Corys but those 2 seemed to go. All other fish are healthy and active.
