help sexing dempseys

ok looks like the yolks are gone although they arent swimming yet they are still staying in the pits. so i opened up the hikari first bites and wow that stuff is like powder. put a sprinkle in and it kinda just went everywhere instead of near the fry. so them stuck my hand in the tank near them and released some more and still went everywhere. mom and dad didnt like this so they moved them to where i cant see them inside the cave. so is there some special way i should be feeding them this stuff?

eeekkk herd seems to be shrinking already. maybe just me being nervous... not really sure. so what do u think about me moving them right now.... is survival rate lower by moving them? i would feel better if i had them out of there. but i dont want to make situations worse

You can go ahead and move them if it will make you feel better. I tend to leave my fry with their parents, but then again, I'm fortunate that all of my JD pairs are excellent parents. Allot of breeders move the fry, as soon as they are free swimming, into a smaller tank, so that they can find food more easily. Just make sure the fry tank is well cycled. Good luck.

man i suck at this... well the intake didnt have an end cap on it so i slipped a piece of nylon hose over it. thought that would work just fine.... well it didnt. went in to check on them an hour later and found a bunch stuck to the nylon hose. 26 casualties.... so turned off the filter and made a mad dash to the pet store for some sponge. guess ill chalk it up to live and learn..... well at least I lived anyway. geeez will i ever get this right?
