That is not a bristlenose. It is a Pterygoplichthys gibbiceps and it still could grow to a very large size.

I can admit I am not any sort of authority on ID-ing fish of any kind and this guy does look a little different so it's entirely possible I am wrong. But they said it is 5 yr old and google says that the gib can grow up to 12 inches in 1 year (with proper diet and housing of course) and this guy is only 4 inches max after 5 years. Could it be THAT stunted?
